Here at Aurina we share the growing sense of concern with regards to sustainability in the retail world and recognise that the industry needs to move faster. We need to continue to design products which will last longer, are easier to recycle and are made from safe, sustainably sourced or recycled materials. We also continue to work to develop a fairer, more transparent and traceable supply chain.
Increasingly customers want to know where product materials were sourced from and what they are made of. With this in mind, we are committed to working towards more sustainable packaging and recyclability. At Aurina we are prioritising sustainability - looking at our suppliers and warehouses to reduce unnecessary waste and minimise environmental damage. Our aim is transparency with regards to product materials and sustainability so that you, as the consumer, can have faith in us and in our efforts to make measurable environmental changes.
By way of example, our furniture is crafted by skilled local craftsmen and women with the aim of sustaining local jobs and skills in Indonesia. In turn, these safeguards improve education and skills in local communities. Our Jute mats and runners are manufactured in Bangladesh by women owned CRAFT manufacturers and exporters in a highly sustainable manner. Our soaps are locally sourced and are handmade in England in a traditional old soapery, thus supporting the local community and reducing the carbon footprint. We are proud that our soaps are presented in plastic free packaging. Our bespoke Aurina bone China is hand decorated for us in Stoke on Trent, allowing us to continue to support British Manufacturing. This means that each piece may be a little different, a fact that we love!
Ultimately we have a goal to work towards. Our aim is to become as sustainable as we can and we are constantly looking for ways to achieve this in terms of products and packaging.
